The University of Queensland is the oldest and largest of Queensland’s nine universities and is the State’s leading center of higher education as well as a member of Universitas 21. UQ is a founding member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight, a leading group of Australian universities that collectively enrolls one third of all university students and conducts 70% of all university research in Australia. The campus combines the vitality of cutting edge research with comprehensive facilities and a sense of tradition that comes with a long established University.

UQ’s main campus is located in the picturesque inner-city suburb of St Lucia. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and only seven kilometres from Brisbane’s vibrant city heart, this 285-acre site provides students with the perfect study, research and living environment. UQ’s gracious sandstone buildings, parklands, and lakes encompass world-class teaching and research facilities.

The University of Queensland is home to more than 38,000 students, including over 6,000 international students.

The golden beaches and fun parks of the famous Gold Coast are just an hour’s drive south. The beautiful Sunshine Coast beaches lie a short drive to the north, along with imposing National Park rainforests and tourist attractions such as Australia Zoo.
