- Fit in a study abroad experience into your plan of study if you start planning early enough.
- Participate in hands-on learning activities as part of a course, including an internship, or through extracurricular activities.
- Enrich your academic experience by participating in classroom discussions abroad with diverse student populations.

- The best type of programs for students looking into taking core courses for MEM are exchange programs.
- Consider 2nd semester sophomore year, junior year or summer as the best terms to go abroad.
Due to the MEM plan of study having a lot of sequential courses, it is very important to start planning your experience abroad early. Students are advised to not go abroad on their 4th year due to senior design course requirement.
Explore what factors to consider for your major and a course plan that adjusts your sequencing for a term abroad here.
Experiential Global Learning (EGL) encourages students to talk to their academic advisor to go over what courses to take while abroad before scheduling an appointment with your EGL advisor.
