General Education Substitutions

Your school or college will decide if specific Experiential Global Learning courses can be used to fulfill General Education requirements.

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS)

Students should get pre-approval through CLAS Academic Service Center to determine if the courses you are planning to take on your program could count as General Education courses. CLAS only reviews substitutions for CA1 courses. In order to do a pre-approval request you should email clasasc@uconn.edu. Please complete the Substitution Request Form found on the CLAS webpage. If the course has already been approved as a substitution, you still need to apply for the substitution by filling out the form. If the course has not been approved, you need to send a syllabus along with the completed form.

NEAG School of Education

Education majors should make an appointment with Ann Traynor to discuss and review course substitutions for general education requirements.
