As a Business Exploratory major or minor, you can:

Faculty-Led:

Summer Exploring Women and Leadership in Iceland
Reykjavik, Iceland
Leadership is an important skill in the business world and this short-term, faculty-led program explores this concept through the changing women’s roles and social ideologies related to women’s educational aspirations, career achievement, and leadership. Students will learn via small class meetings, day trips in Reykjavik and outside the city, and through talks from prominent women in Iceland to explore themes such as gender and sexuality, economics and the workforce, politics and government, family and motherhood, and education.

Summer Business in London
London, England
Go global with Summer Business in London! Through intensive internships and coursework, this program offers students the chance to work in one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, get academic credit, and engage with critical global issues both inside and outside the classroom.

Summer in Ghana
Accra, Ghana
This program will introduce students to the Finance Technology sector (FinTech), Supply Chain, and Culture and History of Ghana. Students will be provided with an introductory view of West African Culture, while having the opportunity to visit with and learn from companies in Ghana, seeing their view of success and progress.

Tuition-Based Programs:

Business & Economics in London 
London, England
This program is designed to give upper-level Business and Economics majors the chance to participate in seven weeks of coursework and seven weeks of a full time internship. Students will be able to be considered for a wide variety of placements at well-known companies in many industry sectors, as well as with smaller innovative companies. Opportunities vary each term as they are subject to availability and individual skill set.

Cardiff, Wales
Cardiff University is an ambitious and innovative university with a bold and strategic vision located in the heart of Wale’s capital. Cardiff University research was ranked 5th amongst UK universities and 2nd on its impact in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework for quality. With more than 30,000 students and over 7,000 international students, Cardiff University is the 8th largest university in the UK in terms of student numbers.

Fudan University
Shanghai, China
Fudan is located in one of China’s most dynamic cities, known for rapid growth over the last twenty years to become a truly global city and a major center for commerce, technology, education, fashion, and the arts in Asia. Students can participate in business courses that have been aligned for UConn credit while exploring other subjects that fulfill gen ed and elective requirements, in addition to diving deeper into the rich culture of China. Courses are taught in English and students can begin or continue study of Chinese language. 

Reichman University 
Herzliya, Israel
IDC Herzliya is unique in its educational methods, which are based on an interdisciplinary approach, teaching information technology and global markets. They combine theory with real world experience and provide students with proficiencies. Their basic outlook, which is rooted in the twin concepts of individual freedom and responsibility, emphasizes student entrepreneurship and leadership alongside commitment to community service. Courses are available in Business, Government, Communications, Economics, Psychology, and Sustainability.

ISA: Semester at the American Business School Paris
Paris, France
This semester long opportunity in Paris provides students an opportunity to take Business related electives abroad in English.

Palmerston North, New Zealand
Extensive opportunities to explore business related subjects at an AACSB accredited University. Students interested in communication, journalism or marketing are eligible to apply for an internship with placements that include a media company, for-profit business, community arts agency, sports organization, government department or global non-profit. 

Education Abroad Network, Semester Abroad in Vietnam 
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Students can explore a variety of business subjects, including Asian Business Studies, on a modern Vietnamese campus that draws students particularly interested in STEM courses, Fashion, Digital Design (like 3D animation), Business, Communications, Hospitality and Tourism. 

KEI in Bangkok, Thailand
Bangkok, Thailand
Study at the oldest university in Thailand, Mahidol University International College, where international students represent more than 45 countries around the globe. A variety of courses are offered in business in addition to a comprehensive list of other academic disciplines.

University College Dublin Summer Internship
Dublin, Ireland
Students will participate in a short-term program over the summer on the UCD campus with international college students from around the globe. The program includes coursework and an internship for academic credit where students can explore professional interests through hands-on experience with a local company.

Virtual Internship EUSA
Various cities in Europe depending on professional interests.
Students will meet with an internship placement coordinator prior to the start of the semester to discuss the types of professional skills they wish to develop, current skills and experiences, as well as professional interests. This information will be used to set-up an interview with an employer to find the best fit for the internship experience. Students will have many options for placements based on their interests and feedback and support from EUSA staff. Students with intermediate or advanced proficiency in Spanish can participate in Madrid while expanding their language skills, as well as Paris with French language skills.

Virtual Internship London
Students will meet with an internship placement coordinator prior to the start of the semester to discuss the types of professional skills they wish to develop, current skills and experiences, as well as professional interests. This information will be used to set-up an interview with an employer to find the best fit for the internship experience. Students will have many options for placements based on their interests,  as well as  feedback and support from Anglo Educational Services staff. All positions will be conducted in English.

Finances are an integral part of the program selection and planning process. Research scholarships early to meet application deadlines and request feedback on essays from advisors and the Writing Center.
