Identify what classes are being offered. Some programs have preset classes, while others allow you to choose which classes you would like to take. Review your program and identify whether you select your own classes. Need help or have questions? Schedule an EGL Advising Appointment! Course Alignment. Check the pre-approved lists to see if classes you'd like to take already have a UConn equivalent. If they don't, send classes through the Course Alignment Form. Remember this can take up to 6 - 8 weeks. Browse Courses. If updated class offerings for your term aren't available use past semesters as a starting point. Remember, once the appropriate term courses are available it will be important to verify classes you want to take are offered then. Work with your Academic Advisor. Touch base with your Academic Advisor to make sure your program will work with your plan of study! Review the credit/grade conversion charts.Meet with an EGL Advisor. Your EGL advisor is assigned based on your major. EGL advisors can help explain course alignment and credits abroad, review financing and scholarships and more! Schedule an EGL Advising appointment here. Meet with your academic advisor. Discuss how your EGL program can fit in your plan of study, when is the best time to go abroad and what classes you can or cannot take abroad. Confirm passport validity. Do you have a passport that will be valid for 6 months past the end of your desired EGL program? If not it's time to apply or renew! Email egl@uconn.edu if you need to apply for a passport. Program funding. Have you thought about how you will fund your EGL program? Be sure to look into scholarship opportunities and speak with your EGL advisor about funding! UConn Global
