Winter American Sign Language in Puerto Rico

This winter session ASL program will offer students the opportunity to engage in daily activities involving the Deaf Puerto Rican community. Students will learn about unique aspects of ASL and Puerto Rician Sign Language (PRSL) while exploring historical landmarks, sampling local cuisine, and connecting with members of the Puerto Rican Deaf community. In addition to the intensive, all-day, one week session, pre and post departure assignments including a community engagement project, will offer students the opportunity to carefully examine and reflect upon language and culture from a global perspective.
