Mechanical Engineering
As a Mechanical Engineer student, you can:
- Participate in summer programs to fulfill core, professional or general education requirements
- The best type of program for students looking into taking core courses for Mechanical engineering is exchange programs.
- Consider 2nd semester sophomore year, junior year or summer as the best terms to go abroad.
Due to the Mechanical Engineering plan of study having a lot of sequential courses, it is very important to start planning your experience abroad early. Students are advised to not go abroad on their 4th year due to senior design course requirement.
Experiential Global Learning (EGL) encourages students to talk to their academic advisor to go over what courses to take while abroad before scheduling an appointment with your EGL advisor.
When planning an experience abroad, be sure to keep in mind your electives, any extra credits you may be able to use to your advantage, as well as current and upcoming terms in your course of study.
