Global Affairs Scholarships

No additional application is required for these scholarships, students will be reviewed for eligibility through their Experiential Global Learning program application.

Catherine Dudley Scholarship Fund
This scholarship will be awarded to UConn undergraduate students enrolled full-time who demonstrate financial need. Priority will be given to students majoring in Economics. Applications are available as part of the online application process. To be eligible, students must file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) with the Office of Financial Aid. If a student withdraws from their program after being awarded the scholarship, Experiential Global Learning may rescind the scholarship award.

Dr. Paul B. Goodwin, Jr. Endowed Study Abroad Scholarship
One of the first UConn majors in Latin American Studies, Mr. Bruce Lane remembers how traveling in Argentina impacted and transformed his life. To assist new students in having similar opportunities, Mr. Lane has generously established the Dr. Paul B. Goodwin, Jr. Endowed Study Abroad Scholarship in honor of his mentor, Emeritus Professor of History, Paul Goodwin, Jr. This scholarship will be awarded to UConn undergraduate students enrolled full-time who demonstrate academic achievement, an academic focus on Latin America, and are committed to study or research programs in Latin America or the Caribbean. Priority will be given to students majoring in Latin American Studies. Applications are available as part of the online application process. If a student withdraws from their program after being awarded the scholarship, Experiential Global Learning may rescind the scholarship award.

David K. Herzberger Study Abroad Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to UConn undergraduate students enrolled full-time who demonstrate financial need and are participating in a program abroad in which English is not the language of instruction. Priority will be given to students majoring within the Department of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages. Applications are available as part of the online application process. To be eligible, students must file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) with the Office of Financial Aid. If a student withdraws from their program after being awarded the scholarship, Experiential Global Learning may rescind the scholarship award.

Geraldine Hugg Fund
This scholarship will be awarded to UConn undergraduate or graduate students enrolled full-time who demonstrate academic achievement. Priority will be given to students interested in the language and culture of the Czech Republic or Slovakia. Applications are available as part of the online application process. If a student withdraws from their program after being awarded the scholarship, Experiential Global Learning may rescind the scholarship award.

McMahon Family Endowment for Global Education
This scholarship will be awarded to UConn undergraduate students enrolled full-time who demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and an interest in the study of global education in coursework, which may include international relations, human rights, or health and wellness issues that impact less developed countries and regions. Applications are available as part of the online application process. To be eligible, students must file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) with the Office of Financial Aid. If a student withdraws from their program after being awarded the scholarship, Experiential Global Learning may rescind the scholarship award.

Joshua R. Newton Study Abroad Access Fund
This scholarship will be awarded to UConn undergraduate or graduate students enrolled full-time who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and financial need. Applications are available as part of the online application process. To be eligible, students must file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) with the Office of Financial Aid. If a student withdraws from their program after being awarded the scholarship, Experiential Global Learning may rescind the scholarship award.

John and Ann Ellen Rutherford International Scholarship Fund
This scholarship will be awarded to UConn undergraduate domestic or international students enrolled full-time who demonstrate academic achievement and financial need. Applications are available as part of the online application process. To be eligible, domestic students must file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) with the Office of Financial Aid. If a student withdraws from their program after being awarded the scholarship, Experiential Global Learning may rescind the scholarship award.

Eileen and Jerry Lieberman UConn/Israel Global Partnership Fund
This scholarship will be awarded to UConn students enrolled full-time who engage in research collaborations with Israeli universities that expose them to academic excellence and innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystems. Applications are available as part of the online application process. If a student withdraws from their program after being awarded the scholarship, Experiential Global Learning may rescind the scholarship award.

GO Global: The Galinsky-Olayon Endowment for Study Abroad
This scholarship will be awarded to UConn undergraduate students enrolled full-time who demonstrate significant financial need and are participating on semester-long programs. Priority will be given to students who have overcome obstacles such as socioeconomic or educational disadvantage, are members of groups that are underrepresented at UConn, or have experience living or working in diverse environments. Applications are available as part of the online application process. To be eligible, students must file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) with the Office of Financial Aid.
