Benjamin Franklin Travel Grant
This travel grant is aimed at giving students enrolled in an American University an opportunity to discover France. Applications are open to sophomore, junior and senior students who are enrolled in a double major, including one major in French and one major in another discipline. Consideration will also be given to students enrolled in a minor/certificate in French and majoring in another subject.

Bridging Scholarship for Study Abroad in Japan
The Bridging Project offers scholarships to American undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan. Funding from private foundations and major U.S. corporations, through donations to the nonprofit US-Japan Bridging Foundation, makes it possible to award about 100 scholarships each year to assist students with the travel and living expenses they will incur while studying abroad in Japan for a semester or an academic year. Applications are accepted twice a year for Bridging Scholarships.

British University Transatlantic Exchange Associations Scholarships
The scholarship is open to University of Connecticut undergraduates who have been offered acceptance on a study abroad or exchange program at a UK university which is BUTEX affiliated. The value of each scholarship is £500 and will be paid to the winners once they have arrived and registered at their host university.

Freeman-Asia Scholarship
Freeman Awards for Study in Asia provides scholarships for U.S. undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia.

Go Overseas Study in New Zealand Scholarship
This is a full scholarship (US$15,000) for US students to study abroad in New Zealand for either spring or fall semester. In addition to the US$15,000 scholarship, there are five NZ$1,000 scholarships available for students who select the University of Auckland.

Fulbright UK Summer Institutes
There are nine summer programs available for US undergraduates (over age 18) with at least two years of undergraduate study left to complete. The Summer Institutes will cover the majority of participant costs including academic program fees, travel, housing, food and cultural visits. Application deadline: Please note there are 29 (two) deadline dates, depending on the institute you apply to. Thursday, February 27 by 5pm (UK time) or Thursday March 6th by 5pm (UK time). Golden Key International Honour Society 
Each scholarship through Golden Key requires a different application. Click on the scholarship you are interested in for specific instructions on how to apply.

Inclusive Ireland Scholarship 
Students planning to study at the University College Dublin or National University of Ireland Galway, identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Colour, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and plan to apply for fall 2021 participation, can apply for the scholarship.

Jeanne Marandon Scholarship
This scholarship, worth up to $8,000, is for students interested in spending either a year in Paris or a summer in Quebec. Contact roger.celestin@uconn.edu for more information.

Kosciuszko Foundation Study Abroad Scholarships in Poland
These scholarships are for students who wish to study in Poland, either for the semester or the summer.

New Zealand Education 
Students who have decided to study abroad in New Zealand can search the Think New database for scholarship opportunities.

National Italian American Foundation
Awards vary in amount and require United States Citizenship, Italian ancestry and enrollment in a full-time accredited institution of higher education. Visit the website for additional information on eligibility requirements.

Nottingham China Scholarships
Students participating in the exchange to the University of Nottingham in Ningbo, China have several opportunities for scholarships administered through UNNC. (Note: Students must be nominated by UConn Experiential Global Learning to participate in an exchange program.) Students may qualify for the UNNC Mobility Scholarship, Ningbo International Student Government Scholarship for Exchange Students, or the UNNC Global Ambassador Scholarship. SWEA Scholarship for Studies in Sweden
This scholarship will be awarded to one or shared by two or three well-merited female students for undergraduate or graduate studies in Sweden for at least one semester.

The Tadeusz Sendzimir Fund
Provides scholarships to students, preferably of Polish descent, who are studying Polish language, history, or culture. Two types of scholarships are available: a) Academic year awards of up to $5,000, to support ongoing studies at an accredited college or university in the United States or Poland. b) Summer program scholarships of up to $3,000, to support summer studies abroad at an academic institution/university in Poland.

Toshizo Watanabe Study Abroad Scholarship Program 
The Toshizo Watanabe Endowed Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to undergraduate/graduate students for a semester or year-long study abroad program in either the United States or Japan. The scholarship will support the full cost of attendance to the study abroad program of the applicant’s choice. The scholarship program grants awards to recipients in amounts determined by financial need and other qualifications.

The Turkish Coalition of America Scholarship
The Turkish Coalition of America provides up to 100 scholarships per year for students of the following backgrounds:

  • African American
  • Armenian American
  • Bosnian American
  • Filipino American
  • Hispanic American
  • Macedonian American
  • Native American

These scholarships are awarded to full-time undergraduate and graduate students in good standing who have been accepted to a language program or university study abroad program in Turkey, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), or Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Applicants should also be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents.

Eligible students will receive between $500 and $2,000 to use toward the cost of studying abroad. Scholarships will be awarded for programs lasting for the summer, one semester, or an academic year, as well as for university/college sponsored study tours and programs spent studying the country’s language.
